Haeum Museum of Art 《보편적 실재를 향한 예술의 역주》

2026년 해움미술관 박물관·미술관 지원사업은 <보편적 실재를 향한 예술의 역주) 김재홍, 류연복 전 으로 기획했습니다. 두 작가는 오랜 시간 진보적 예술의 시대정신으로 보편적 삶의 본질에 다가 가는 작업을 해 왔습니다. 동시대 리얼리즘 미술을 대표하는 이들은 현실에 대한 깊이 있는 통찰과 치열한 조형 언어로, 우리의 삶을 정직하게 마주하는 예술의 가능성을 제시합니다. 예술은 실재를 향한 사유의 과정이자, 동시에 완전히 재현될 수 없는 인간 내면과 무의식의 층위를 드러내고 있습 니다. 김재홍의 회화와 류연복의 판화는 인간과 자연을 서사의 중심에 두고, 삶의 근원에 대한 질 문을 심화시키는 진지한 태도를 보입니다. 나아가 두 작가는 재현의 차원을 넘어, 예술이 도달할 수 있는 실재의 경계와 그 너머를 탐구하고 있습니다. 이번 전시는 이러한 두 작가의 예술 세계를 통해, 우리가 살아가는 시대와 현실, 그리고 예술의 본질을 사유하는 계기가 될 것입니다. 모쪼록 본 전시가 동시대 예술의 담론과 의미 있는 성찰의 시간이 되길 바라며, 삼가 초대합니다.

《ARTISTIC COUNTERPOINT TOWARD UNIVERSAL REALITY》

We warmly welcome you to the exhibition , featuring works by Kim Jaehong and Ryu Yeonbok as the 2026 Museum & Gallery Support Program at Haeum Museum of Art. For many years, both artists have engaged in practices that reflect the progressive spirit of their time, striving to approach the essential nature of universal human life. As leading figures in contemporary realism, they offer profound insights into reality through rigorous artistic language, presenting the possibility of art that confronts our lives with honesty and depth. Art is both a process of contemplation directed toward reality and a medium that reveals the inner dimensions of the human psyche and unconscious realms that can never be fully reproduced. Kim Jaehong's paintings and Ryu Yeonbok's prints place humanity and nature at the center of their narratives, demonstrating a serious and sustained inquiry into the fundamental questions of existence. Moreover, both artists move beyond the boundaries of representation, exploring the limits of reality that art can reach and what lies beyond them. Through their artistic worlds, this exhibition invites us to reflect upon the era we inhabit, the reality we face, and the essential nature of art itself.
