일상속 탐색의 시선
익숙한 관성에 젖어, 주변을 바라보던 시선이 무의미하게 시각적 정보를 흘려보낸다. 어느것 하나 새로울것이 없다면서... 기억의 바코드를 읽어내리듯 아이의 시선은 새로움을 발견한다. 그 속에는 기억의 정보와 지난날들의 에너지가 발산하고, 차단된 시선의 범위를 넓혀준다. 두 아이의 엄마가 된 후 그 어떤 존재감보다 나의 공간에서 물리적 자리를 차지하고 있는 장난감과 장난감화 되어가는 일상용품들이 하나둘 이야기를 시작한다. 익숙한 벽지와 같은 그들의 존재가 언제부턴가 말을 걸기 시작한 것이다.

아이의 놀이와 작품은 목적이 없다. 단지 자신이 원하는 상황 그것뿐이다. 결과도 과정도 없이 그저 그것이 존재함으로 즐거운 것이다. 본인의 이번 작품 중 일부는 우리 아이에 대한 ‘오마쥬 [ hommage ]’이다. 자유와 흥분이 교차하여 만들어낸 행복자체이다. 관조적 나의 자세는 이제 한층 적극적이어서 화면안에선 유치하고 유희적인 즐거움을 만끽한다. 내 아이의 그것처럼... 나의 유희적 시선은 여러 가지 상상을 한다. 엔젤하트 작은 인형의 몸은 유동적 액체가 되어 공간으로 살을 밀어내기도하고, 그 살은 공간을 부유하기도 한다. 눈은 너무 반짝이고 빛나서 금방이라도 그 큰 눈망울로 말을 건낼듯하다. 애교로 무장한 귀여운 표정으로 낯선 공간에 뮤지컬배우처럼 정형화되고 과장된 몸짓을 구사한다. 이런 일상적 사물에 대한 탐색과 시선이 아이처럼 우리를 들뜨게 한다.

interactive 그리고 존재감
아이에게서 신비롭고 놀라운 소통의 의지를 본다. 대답 없는 인형과 대화를 나누는 아이. 익숙해진 사물에 대해 나는 모든 걸 버려야 느낄 수 있는 무상무념의 몰입되는 시선이 필요하다. 이미 우리 타성에 젖은 그들의 이름을 버려야 하는 순간이다. 하나 가득 받아든 마시멜로우와 젤리처럼 쓰고도 역겨운 투명한 캡슐은 아직도 우리 아이에겐 사탕이며 밥이다. 그것이 본래의 용도와 이름은 필요치 않다.
나에겐 조금은 가볍고 즐거운 경험이 필요하다. 장난감을 언제든지 들어 올려 품에 안을 수 있도록 쉽게 접하고, 아이에게 장난감의 존재처럼 유희와 살아 소통하는 ‘아우라’의 빛을 잃지 않는 작업을 영위하고 싶다. 유희는 오감을 통해 나의 뇌리에 박혀 기억을 더듬는다. 어린 시절 그렇게 소원했던 인형을 손에 들고 지금도 우리는 그 설렘이 가슴을 훈훈하게 해준다. 일상의 소품들속에 기억과 나의 또 다른 자아의 대화가 존재한다. 나의 자존감을 인식하게 하는 너와 나의 관계를 읽어간다. 장난감을 모티브로 작업을 하면서 나는 오브제의 행위에 관여하고 스토리를 풀어간다. 단지 가볍게 지나치는 순간일지라도 그곳에는 충분한 전달과 가치 있음을 인식하게 된다. 현재 우리가 말하는 예술표현은 화자(가)의 이야기만을 일방적으로 들으려하지 않는다. 나에게 국한된 경험적 기억과 일상의 현실을 통해 우리의 경험을 교류하고 진실한 이야기를 이끌어 내는 것이다. 이러한 표현은 단지 재현적 모방에 그치지 않고 끝이 없이 스토리 텔링을 하고 있다. 아이와 사물의 상호적 대화는 가볍과 유치하고 일차원적이다. 하지만 그들이 주는 유쾌함과 신선함은 마치 내가 그것에 함께 대화를 나누어 카타르시스를 느끼는 기분이다. 이런 감정이입은 남다른 나의 애정에서 비롯될지 모르지만 이러한 나의 감정을 공유하고 싶다.

Eyes of search in everyday life
By habits, eyes that were looking around are sending visual messages meaninglessly. The eyes are saying that nothing is new... As if reading barcode of memories, eyes of a child find novelty. In there, information of past memory and energy from the past radiate, limited boundary of view gets expanded. Since becoming a mother of two children, toys and everyday life products that are becoming toys which are taking more physical space in my space begin telling stories. Their existence like familiar wall papers begin speaking to me.

Play and artwork of a child do not have purposes. They are only about what the child want at the moment. No result or process, simply the existence itself is what is happy. Some of my recent artworks of 'hommage' of my child. The happiness itself created from exchange of freedom and excitment. My attitude that was quiet and passive is now much more aggressive that I enjoy fully the happniess of silliness and playfulness in picture frames. Like the one of my child... My playful viewpoint imagine many. Body of angel-heart little doll becomes fluid liquid that it pushes out its flesh into space, the space enriches the space. Eyes are too sparkling and shining that the big eyes seem to talk soon. Adorable facial expression filled with charms presents formal and exaggerated body gestures like musical actresses. Such search and viewpoints to everyday life things excite us like a child.

Interactive and sense of existence
Mystic and surprising will of communication is found in my child. The child who conversate with a doll that does not respond. I need a view point that immerse into the status of being free by having no idea and no thoughts which is possible by erasing everything about everyday things. It is the moment when the familiar names of the everyday things need to be thrown away. Marshmellow that my child is holding with two full arms, transparent capsule that is bitter and stinks still is a candy and a meal for my child. The original usage and name is not needed.

I need an experience that is a bit light and happy. Get in touch with toys easily at any time, get on works that does not lose spectrum of light that is like existence of toys to my child. Playfullness search for my memories through five senses. The doll that we used to want to much in our childhood still make our hearts warm when we hold the doll now. There are memories of everyday life things and conversation of me and another self of me. I read relationship between you and I that help me recognize self-existence. As I take toys as my motif, I relate to actions of objects, and roll out stories. Even moments that pass slightly, it is realizable that there are communications and values. Artistic expressions that we are talking about do not wish to listen only what the artist tries to say. It is rather about exchanging our experienes and pulling our sincere stories through experiencial memories and reality of everyday life. Such expressions do not stop at representational imitations but tell stories endlessly. Both way communication of a child and a thing is slight, silly and simple. But the pleasure and freshness is like a catalyst that I can join their conversation. Such emotion adaptation may be driven from a disticntive affection, but I wish to share my emotions.
